So, The Sky Isn’t Falling After All?

Well, the dreaded Rapture has passed and it seems we’ve all survived with our limbs still attached (or have we?..dun dun dunnn!). But what would’ve happened if worldwide doom, really came to pass? Would fire fall from the sky–well shit let’s hope not, but maybe there’s one thing we can all look forward to. That’s right, I’m talking about Zombie Babes.

The Artist: Chloe Roques

French web and graphics designer, Chloe Roques, has got me flipping the pages of the nearest zombie manual for her pinup style, “Zombabes.” Googoorama is the site which showcases these busty maneaters from original vector art, to sketches, and merchandise.

So, what does a Zombabe do in a post-apocalyptic world? She gets her fill of BRraAAIIInNNssSS of course…..eh, too much? Oh alright……ANYWHO my fav–zombabe, has got to be the chick munching on eyeballs, probably watching a marathon of Resident Evil.

Aptly named “Santiago” (don’t you just love one named artists), Santiago’s work is a provocative blend of vintage pinups, urban art influences, and every other deliciously exotic mash-up you could add to the sultry melting pot. Like many artists, his work has been an expression of himself since even early childhood.

I am probably most taken aback by the illustrious use of color to convey powerful passion behind his pieces. It’s as though he has taken the sensuous housewife circa 1952 and propelled her into a whirlwind of futuristic glamor.

He started Snuggie Sutra with his good friend, Megan Morrison, and they were both surprised when this sexy, quirky, phenomenon lead to a book deal.

Megan Morrison is the graphic genius behind The Snuggie Sutra. She’s a graphic designer in Washington DC who makes a living doing what she truly loves. Perhaps it’s no coincidence that she once tacked tiny sex cartoons around her bedroom that the Snuggie Sutra would spawned thereafter.

Unique Shadow Illusions

Remember those days of hand puppets and shadows in front of a dimly lit light? Well, SexiDesign brings you a showcase of beautiful illusion art which creatively plays on light and shadow.

The Artist: Paul Pacotto

Paul Pacotto is responsible for a series of mysterious sculpture works utilizing creative lighting effects. With his uniquely crafted sculptures, he bounces light off them to create beautiful shadows of mostly women figures. Paul creates these sculptures by first welding sheets of brass together and then finishing the pieces with coats of 24 carat gold or silver.

He then illuminates those pieces by projecting light towards them, allowing womanly shadow characters to appear behind them. Under normal lighting conditions, Paul’s artwork appears as pretty sculptures of roses, instruments, and animals. However, with the perfect angle of light these mysterious sculptures transform into remarkable shadow figures of curvaceous woman.

Rudi Everts is an Australian photo artist. His work captures the illusions of beautiful zodiac pieces by utilizing the natural curves, hills, and valleys of his models for the desired effect.

Take notice of the unique composition of these pieces, how the artist has incorporated movement through the diverse positions of the body, and even the utilization of natural textures in his work.

James Bond Book Collection

James Bond is one of the most iconic films in American culture, mixing the sexy charm of a debonair gentleman with the excitement of action stories. But did you know that this famous icon derived from a series of books from the british author Ian Fleming? To commemorate the release of a collection of James Bond novels, designer Michael Gillete was selected to create the following beautiful book covers.

The Artist: Michael Gillete

Michael Gillete is a talented San Francisco graphic designer who has worked with major clients such as MTV and Levi’s. His unique style of pop art utilizes his playfulness with color while demonstrating his beautiful technique.

Creating the covers for the  James Bond collection

With the James Bond book collection, Michael celebrated the style of the original movies by paying homage to the iconic images associated with the film. Beautiful woman adorn the books, making sure to avoid blatant forms of nudity as requested by the client. The purpose of his designs was to allow movie fans who are interested in the originating literature to appreciate the film’s visual impact on the stories.

Notice the uniformity in the execution of these designs. Many of the women’s poses have their backs facing the viewer with custom typefaces of the book’s titles merging with the curves of their body. Also, displaying the book series with multiple colors adds playful intrigue in acquiring the entire collection.

Traditionally used in typesetting, dingbats have also become known for their common use for computer fonts. A dingbat is characterized as an “ornament, character, or space,” and often displays a picture in replace of recognizable font letters.

The World Wide Web has an awesome collection of dingbat fonts out there. Whatever your little hearts desire can be your next font type including funny, classical, and even some sexy.

I can only imagine how a designer would creatively utilize the following fonts but boy would I love to get a hold of those designs! Hell, you could probably learn a thing or two from these fonts [naughty grin].

What is Mokume Gane?

Mokume Gane (Moh-ku-meh Gah-neh) is a form of metalwork which creates a laminated mix of different metals to create a “wood-grain” effect. Originating in 17th century Japan, Mokume Gane was first seen as a technique in swordmaking. Sheets of relatively soft metals are stacked together, and through an intricate process are forged to create uniquely complex patterns.

What is Damascus?

“Damascus” (Dah-mass-cuss) refers to the term given to an ancient middle eastern swordmaking technique of hot-forging steel, which results in a grain-like pattern. The original historical process of harboring this technique was lost apparently because of a depletion of materials, but that hasn’t kept many craftsman from recreating the technique in their beautiful designs.

Both ancient swordmaking techniques are now used in a plethora of design, including jewelry. No matter which general design you choose, each item will be crafted with it’s own unique pattern. Foreign Forms Of Erotic Design

These tiny shoes belong to a woman who practiced foot binding. In traditional china, bound feet reflected the favored shape amongst loony wealthy  families. These women upheld the belief that their sole purpose was to serve their spouse, and normally shaped feet represented peasants who had to work.

Elite men considered the result of this practice incredibly erotic. Women’s feet would resemble the naturally petite feet of renowned dancers, and in an effort to keep up with the elite, the practice spread amongst the classes.

Lotus Shoes

Dainty lotus shoes were crafted to accompany bound feet. The erotica grew when men watched women walk with a sway as they kept pressure on their heels. These lovely embroidered shoes measured preferably 3 inches in length and the act of concealing  feet peaked men’s sexual intrigue.

Oh, the irony!

Despite an ancient sex manual with 48 different ways to please oompa loompa feet, men actually found these feet aesthetically revolting (sarcastic gasp). I guess they’ll be creating a new group on facebook called, “having sex with lotus shoes on.”

Well, perhaps that rank odor emitting from Suzy’s elf feet got you to vote against sucking toes after all, huh?

On A Personal Note…

I’d rather not go into the wonderfully intricate icky, disgusting details of this practice since I’ve vomited in my mouth several times while researching it. But until next time my little lovelies…
