…for the days when a flash of the wrist made men salivate.
Foreign Erotica
The world is filled with unique cultures, stemming from strict religious foundations that prohibit all that may come across as vulgar and obscene. However, sometimes artists are found making statement pieces on the controversial topics surrounding these beliefs. Whether they’re morally right is a matter of personal opinion, but like many art–they celebrate the human form.
The Artist: Makan Emadi

Makan “Max” Emadi emigrated from Iran to America when he was only 14 years old. While in High School he developed his skill and love of art. He revisited his artistic interests years after high school when he settled into his career of psychotherapy.
Islamo-Erotica
Following the events of 9/11, Max began his Islamo-Erotica series after feelings of connection to the all too familiar scrutiny of being culturally different in America. A non-believer in the theocracies of the world, he examined and compared those traditional beliefs to those of the western world. What followed is called “Islamo-Erotica,” an exploration of gender issues while paying homage to the contradictory images of Islamic wardrobe and American pinup art.
Despite frequent criticism, Max’s artwork actually merges the two culture’s together in a unique way which portrays no bias to either. Explore the beauty of Islamo-Erotica…

Shame on him for painting those, and shame on you for putting them here, like what you care about is art. This is shameful.
