The Artist: Ingrid Goldbloom Bloch
Ingrid Goldbloom Bloch creates mixed-media sculptures out of common items such as recycled aluminum cans. She sees beauty in everyday items, incorporating traditional techniques with nontraditional materials for contrast. Ingrid ultimately hopes to provoke the viewer’s intrigue by causing them to look closer at the materials utilized.
Technique
Ingrid uses a mixture of recycled materials along with hardware store finds to finish her sexy eco-friendly sculptural pieces. Depending on the material, she spends much time figuring out the technical details of construction, often incorporating traditional woven techniques into her “Trashy Lingerie” line.
