Time Machine: The History of Sex Dolls
Everyone has a need for sexual relief at some point in their life, it’s natural. But sometimes the regular approach to “choking the chicken” for masturbation can’t quite quench one’s thirst for another. Hence, the creation of the sex doll.
What is a Sex Doll?
A sex doll is essentially a sex toy used for sexual relief. It’s an inanimate object that is crafted to imitate primarily female genitalia, but is also offered in an array of designs influenced by a woman’s complete body.
Early History
The origins of this sexual assistant are spoken during a time when antsy sailors aboard ship fulfilled their desire with a female doll sewn out of cloth. Commonly known as a “dame de voyage” they were frequently brought on board and passed around by sailors.
The Sex Dolls You Know:Types
Later, commercialized versions of a female sex dolls arose in the form of blow up dolls, body sections, and the all too infamous real doll.
Blow Up Dolls
Blow up dolls are inflatable sex toys made to look like a woman’s body. They usually consist of three entry points for penetration including: the mouth, the vagina, and the anus. Commonly known as a gag gift, they wear easily and aren’t used as much.
Body Sections
Body sections are sex toys that are made out of an array of materials but are manufactured to only look like a certain section of the human body. They come in both female, male, and shemale adaptations and the number of penetration points are dependent on the particular body section.
Real Dolls
Real dolls are insanely crafted sex toys of usually full body women. These expensive beauties are made from silicone, with all the lifelike details of a normal woman’s body–sans the “life.” The costs for these dolls range in the thousands, but they come with the versatility not present in most dolls, allowing you to change their entire look, wardrobe, and hairstyle.
Heavier than your normal sex doll, these dolls come with metal skeletons and flexible joints to position the dolls in multiple sex positions.
Maintenance
Maintenance for real dolls are particularly more intensive than your average sex doll. If the owner is experiencing a problem, they are often shipped for “tweaking” for several weeks, leaving some owners anxiously awaiting “their partner’s” arrival.
